PROFILE — AKIL VIJAY
Raised in Sathyamangalam, Tamil Nadu, Akil Vijay's path into filmmaking started with college short films and commercial photography before taking him to the UK for an MA in Filmmaking (Cinematography) at the University of South Wales, Cardiff — finishing in 2025.
Work during that time spanned concert photography, restaurant video and short films across the UK. Back in Chennai since August 2025, that same set discipline — proper lighting, blocking, sound and pacing — now goes into every brand film, reel and shoot Static takes on.
No big crew, no bloated process. Just a director's eye, a small team brought in per project, and a workflow built the way a film is — from script to final grade.

Most agencies brief a videographer to "capture content." Static starts the way a film does — with a script and a shot list, even for a 30-second reel. Lighting is planned, not fixed in post. Edits are paced like scenes, not stitched like clips.
The result is content that looks considered next to a feed full of things that were just pointed and shot — without losing the speed a brand needs to keep posting.
